Broadway Assistance Center
605 W. 6th Ave., Denver, 303-893-4108, denverbac.org
  • 5:00 pm—7:00 pm Every Thursday night
Broadway Assistance Center provides a hot meal to more than 300 people. The evening gives opportunities for people, many of whom are isolated, to socialize, relax and take their time in our comforting, welcoming atmosphere. Our clothing bank sees a constant flow of guests who come during these hours and are provided with socks, blankets, back packs, toiletries, gloves and hats. BAC provides a free medical clinic every week. A volunteer team of emergency room personnel from Denver Health, an emergency medical van provided by Stout Street Clinic and the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless operate a clinic every week at our Thursday night meal. They dispense first aid, medical attention and advice to our guests; BAC provides supplies and required over-the-counter medications. By providing essential medical services on site, BAC and its partners are reducing unnecessary emergency room visits to Denver's public health system, saving taxpayers thousands of dollars.

Women's Bean Project
3201 Curtis St., Denver, 303-292-1919, www.womensbeanproject.com/volunteer.html
  • Volunteerism is intrinsic to the success of the Women's Bean Project. Our Board of Directors is comprised of hard-working members of the community. In addition, a corps of nearly 200 regular volunteers offer their time and talents in support of our mission. Our volunteers continue to be our frontline in promoting and educating the public about the Women's Bean Project. Last fall, volunteers sold over $65,000 worth of WBP products during the holiday season! And many volunteer groups offer extra hands and high spirits on the production floor. Volunteering with the WBP is very flexible. Some people volunteer each week, while others donate their time two or three times a year. We simply ask that you honor and take seriously any commitment that you do make to the WBP. Please visit our website for more information and to fill out the volunteer application or contact us at 303-292-1919.
